Unfiltered Audio SpecOps

Unfiltered Audio and Plugin Alliance release SpecOps, a plug-in for spectral effects processing.

SpecOps is a plugin that has 36 flexible spectral effects, from the subtlety to the extreme, with which sound designers and electronic music producers can easily access a wide range of special effects and sounds that can decompose analytically at spectral level and rebuild them later.

The plug-in allows the application of gain, compression or distortion depending on the frequency of the sound sources. It is a workflow that offers another approach using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to divide the audio into hundreds or thousands of sections that can be manipulated by a large number of spectral effects.

You can select from 36 effects, including the most common ones (such as Filter, Freeze and Clip) or more infrequent selections (such as Contrast or Decapitate) to apply on any of the three adjustable bands. It allows you to increase, cut, add distortion or accurately compress parts of the audio to create a totally new sound.

SpecOps incorporates Spectral Compander that allows to compress or expand by frequency-slice, so the dynamics of any point between 128 and 32786 sections (based on the size of the FFT) is analyzed individually and treated at the same time.

It also includes a series of global parameters such as Pitch Shifter, Speed and Freeze, which maintain and block the analysis of SpecOps samples creating environmental effects of spectral synthesis, and a 2-step LPF filter.

The Unfiltered Audio system allows SpecOps to transition to a higher interaction state through seven built-in modulators, a 16-step sequencer, four different LFOs, macro control (can be used with any MIDI controller) and an integrated module for ROLI Lightpad.

SpecOps is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7+ and Apple OS X 10.8+ operating systems and is available in AAX AudioSuite, AAX Native, AU, VST2 and VST3 formats.
