The first edition of Störung Festival, a festival of experimental electronic music and visual arts took place on 8th July 2006. 20 years later, as part of the 20th anniversary programme, Alex Gámez, composer, sound engineer and creator of Störung, participated with his artist project Asférico in TECSMUC 2026 , Barcelona.
TECSMUC’s week is an initiative from the musical creation department of ESMUC, that wants to foster creation and experimentation using applied technologies in innovation and musical creation, across all aspects of sound and vision. The fourth edition took place from 30th June to 4th July 2026 at the Sala d’Orquestra de l’Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya.
Asférico: ‘Sonidos del Subconsciente’
‘Sonidos del Subconsciente’ is a series of pieces based on the combination of massive manipulations of field recordings, captured from all around the world since 2007, and analog synthesizer sounds designed in a specific way for this project.
“Sonidos del Subconsciente” is an imaginary soundtrack of a timeless, deep, dark, blurred and noisy world with millions of files and unknown connections and processes constantly running that brings the listener to an unreproducible sensitive experience.
Alex Gámez (Barcelona, 1981), did a presentation about Störung and his creative process followed by a live multi-speaker performance.
